How To Remove Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications

How to Remove Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications. As you know if we do not use the Windows XP operating system is genuine, it would appear WGA notifications or warnings on the login screen or when windows runs. Where it will stop the update from Microsoft and disables your computer to install IE7 and Windows Media Player 11. You will not be able to download from Microsoft that requires a valid license.

1. Click Start, Run, then type in system32. Click Ok.

2. In system32 page, go to Tools -> Folder options -> click on the View tab -> Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types

3. Find the file and name it WgaLogon.dll.bak WgaLogon.dll.

4. Make a copy of WgaLogon.dll -> Right click on blank space in System32 and select New -> Text Document

5. Give the new file name with WgaLogon.dll
You may get a warning from the above step that says, "If you change a file name extension, the file may Become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it? Just click yes

6. The next step, find WgaTray.exe in system32 and delete it.

7. Immediately open the Task Manager. You can do this by pressing Ctrl, Shift, and Esc keys simultaneously. Click on the tab end process when "WgaTray.exe" is selected.

All that will happen is that "WgaTray.exe" will keep reapearing in the process list. To remove the notifications after this, return to system32. You will find two files: "WgaLogon.dll.bak" (one of which was replaced) and the Application Extension (0KB) called "WgaLogon.dll". Remove the extension application, the name "WgaLogon.dll.bak" to "WgaLogon.dll".

8. Restart the PC and hopefully WGAn no longer appear.

Hopefully useful for you and good luck
